“There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.”
— Proverbs 23:18 (NIV)
Biblical hope is not optimism about odds; the writers of these passages keep describing it as an anchor, an expectation and a discipline practised while circumstances argue the opposite. Lamentations places its most famous hope verses in the middle of a book of grief, not after it. Romans locates hope inside suffering, sequenced there deliberately: suffering, perseverance, character, then hope. This rotation draws from the Psalms of waiting, the prophets who spoke hope to displaced people, and the New Testament letters that treat hope as something that can be held onto out loud, the way Hebrews 10:23 puts it. A different facet each day.
This page serves one verse from the hope rotation each day, the same verse for every visitor on the same Central-time date. Read Proverbs 23:18 in its full chapter here: read the whole chapter.
